Boxing has to be the biggest sucker bet in sports. If you don't have "inside info", you don't have a chance. Props to George Foreman for pointing out what a sham this fight was. It made me sick how Larry Merchant was so PC and tried to defend this horrible decision.

I stayed away from this fight tonight. My lesson was learned when De La Hoya fought Felix Trinidad. That was a sham decision as well. I'll still pay to see boxing, but I'll never bet
it again. Ever.

A CompuBox punch analysis credited De La Hoya with landing 263 of 648 punches, while Trinidad connected on 166 of 462.

Of the punches De La Hoya landed, 143 of them were jabs, while Trinidad was credited with landing only 42 jabs.

If you want to win at boxing, I would suggest that you not bet solely on high profile fights. I am a boxing fanatic, and this is only the second questionable decision I have seen since the Rahman/Tua rematch that took place in March of this year. I have seen every other HBO PPV, Boxing After Dark, and the majority of ESPN Tuesday and Friday Night Fights. Aside from these two fights, no controversial decisions have been made.

The decision made in this fight is not a reflection of the way most fights are judged.

I will exclude fights taking place in Germany, because that is where an exception can be made.

This is good advice. The low profile matches are probably judged more fairly because not as much is at stake.
